Welding electrode production machines are specialized industrial equipment designed to produce coated electrodes for manual arc welding (MMA).
Main types of machines and line components
A complete production line consists of several key modules that ensure the process from core preparation to packaging of finished products:
- Wire preparation: Cutters and straighteners that cut steel wire into precise lengths for future electrode cores.
- Coating preparation: Mixers for homogeneous mixing of chemicals (e.g. rutile, cellulose or basic components) with a binder.
- Extruders: The heart of the line, where the coating mixture is applied to the metal core under high pressure.
- Finishing machines: Equipment for grinding the ends of the electrodes (for easy arc ignition) and marking.
- Drying and baking ovens: Ensure the removal of moisture from the coating, which is crucial for the quality of the weld.
- Packaging lines: Automated machines for packing electrodes into boxes or vacuum packaging
